Entrepreneurship Development Centre

The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) of Jnana Prabodhini has been started in 2012, the Golden Jubilee year. Promotional funds were received through a kind donation from the K. R. Thakar Foundation, Pune.

Jnana Prabodhini's EDC is a member of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), Pune. It has accredited trainers in entrepreneurship from EDII, Ahmedabad and NIESBUD, New Delhi. It has promoted a number of SMEs in the last 40 years. The Alumni that runs various industries and businesses in India and abroad are the resource persons for mentorship.

It is now well-recognized that education and training opportunities play a key role in cultivation of future entrepreneurs and in developing the potentials of existing entrepreneurs to grow their business to great level of success. Entrepreneurship education and training should 'develop entrepreneurial potentials and mindsets' that benefit economies by fostering creativity, innovation and self-employment.

Considering the above aspects of entrepreneurship, Jnana Prabodhini Samshodhan Sanstha (JPSS) has developed a psychometric tool, Battery for Entrepreneurship Aptitude Measurement (BEAM) that can identify the potentials in the entrepreneurs. It includes some mental abilities, Achievement Motivation, Orientations, coping strategies and some personality factors. The test will identify the potentials you need to be a successful entrepreneur and also help to explore resources that you can use to develop the traits needed for success. It also help to know their profile so as to have more clear ideas to proceed towards great success.

Probodhini's inputs for any prospective entrepreneur do not end with giving only a profile of one's personality. After the initial discussion about the report of BEAM test, the eager candidates can approach the separate Mentoring Wing of Jnana Prabodhini.

If the candidate has yet to choose his or her field of enterprise, some alternatives will be suggested through this wing. After short listing the probable fields, contacts of a few running enterprises will be suggested whereby the budding entrepreneurs can choose his or her venture. Once that process is done, a tie-up between the Mentor and the candidate will be established on mutually agreeable terms. Jnana Prabodhini is equipped with more than 30 such working fields coupled with successful and experienced mentors. The duration of interactions will depend on the needs of candidates, the sole objective being to ensure the necessary hand holding that is often required, in the practical world.
