Ishanya Setu, is Jnana Prabodhini’s entrepreneurial venture, which aims to build bridges to the remotest regions of our country as the most natural and powerful way of national integration.
Each community in the North East has its own distinct style of weaving, dyeing, and crafting, often inspired by nature and the community’s tradition.
These fabrics are expressions of identity, pride, and creativity. Making a small cloth for a typical jacket often takes up to two months to weave on a traditional handloom and requires high degree of skill and patience.
Each community will often have its unique motifs, distinct use of colours and geographical shapes. Often woven by women who find time from their daily chores to weave these fabrics and support their families.
These textiles have warmth and love of our sisters – unknown to us-bringing something very personal to them from the North East. Carry this bundle of love and tradition with you and share it with your family and friends!
ईशान्य सेतु
‘ईशान्य सेतु’ च्या माध्यमातून देशाच्या अतिदुर्गम भागांशी संपर्क संबंध जोडत राष्ट्रीय एकात्मतेचा सर्वात नैसर्गिक आणि प्रभावी सेतू उभारण्याचा प्रयत्न आहे.
ईशान्य भारतातील प्रत्येक जनजातीची विणकाम, रंगकाम आणि हस्तकलेची स्वतःची खास परंपरा आहे, जी निसर्गातून आणि त्यांच्या परंपरामधून प्रेरित झालेली आहे. ही textiles त्यांच्या अभिमानाची आणि सर्जनशीलतेची अभिव्यक्ती आणि ओळख आहेत.
प्रत्येक समुदायाचे स्वतःचे वेगळे नक्षीदार नमुने (motifs), रंगसंगती आणि भौमितिक आकृती असतात, ही textiles बहुतांश वेळा स्त्रिया विणतात. पारंपरिक हातमागावर एका छोट्याशा जॅकेटसाठीचे कापड विणण्यासाठी दोन महिने लागू शकतात आणि त्यासाठी अत्यंत कौशल्य, संयम आणि निष्ठा आवश्यक असते. आपल्या दैनंदिन जबाबदाऱ्यांमधून वेळ काढून या वस्त्रांद्वारे आपल्या कुटुंबाचा आधार बनतात.
ह्या सर्व वस्तु आपल्या ईशान्य भारतातील आपल्या ‘अपरिचित बहिणी’चे प्रेम आणि ऊब घेऊन आलेली आहेत. या प्रेम आणि परंपरेच्या धाग्यांची ऊब आपल्या कुटुंबीय आणि मित्रांपर्यन्त पोचवायलाच हवी!
