What you will learn
VR creates a fully immersive experience, allowing students to feel as though they are in a real-life setting, enhancing engagement and focus.
VR helps students visualize abstract concepts, like molecules in chemistry or celestial bodies in physics, making difficult topics easier to understand.
VR offers students the opportunity to conduct virtual experiments and simulations, which would otherwise be difficult or unsafe to perform in a traditional classroom.
Interactive and experiential learning through VR improves memory retention as students are more likely to remember concepts they've physically interacted with.
Transforming Science Education Through Innovation
The lab was entirely developed by engineering interns from Vishwakarma University, MIT WPU, Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Engineering, and Seamedu Institute, under expert mentorship. These young innovators transformed complex science concepts into interactive VR experiments, learning real-world product development skills along the way.
Unlike conventional setups expected from IT companies, this state-of-the-art lab was created within a social organization. It offers over 35 physics, chemistry, and biology experiments in Marathi and English, with step-by-step guidance and a virtual teacher to ensure self-paced learning.
With support from Prabodh Arth Sanchay and generous donors like Shri Mohan Gujarathi and Smt. Nalini Gujarathi, the project demonstrates the power of combining youth, education, and technology for social transformation. The VR lab is cost-effective, hardware-light, and runs smoothly on mobile VR goggles.
Over 3,000 students have already benefited from this lab across six locations including:
-
Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park
-
Jnana Prabodhini Harali Center
-
Zhulass School, Poonch (Jammu)
-
Swaroopvardhini School, Pune
-
Vidyodaya Institute, Ichalkaranji
-
Sonurli School, Sindhudurg
In rural and under-resourced regions, where access to physical labs is limited, this initiative is proving to be a game-changer in science education.
Featured in local newspapers, including coverage of Konkan’s first VR lab at Sonurli School, where education officers praised its impact on students’ curiosity and engagement.
What people say about it
"The VR Lab was truly an immersive experience. I saw firsthand how much the kids enjoyed learning through this technology. As someone who visits many schools, I will make sure this innovation reaches more classrooms – it brings new hope and a refreshing approach to education for students."

Vinayak Mali,
Director, Vidyoday Muktangan Pariwar
Ichalkaranji, Maharashtra
"As the Principal of Sourli School, I had the opportunity to try the VR Lab myself. It truly feels like a boon for underprivileged children. In many rural areas, scientific equipment is either limited or unavailable — this technology allows students to perform experiments without any physical setup or cost. It's a powerful way to bring quality science education to every corner of the country."
