🌐 What is Digital Capacity Building?
Digital Capacity Building is an initiative aimed at empowering educators, youth, and community leaders in marginalized regions through hands-on training in digital literacy, mobile filmmaking, AI tools, and innovative, zero-investment educational technologies.
🎯 Program Goals & Reach
The program focuses on enhancing digital competencies among teachers and local influencers to enable effective digital education delivery. Trainings are conducted across multiple districts reaching over 2000 participants including school teachers, youth leaders, and self-help groups.
📱 Tools & Training Modules
Trainings cover mobile filmmaking, AI-assisted teaching aids, and digital content creation using accessible free tools. Participants receive manuals, digital toolkits, and continuous mentorship to sustain digital learning practices in their communities.

🌲 Arunachal Pradesh

One-day workshops on Cultural Documentation were conducted at Roing and Tawang on December 16 and 24 respectively. The aim was to encourage local youth to use smartphones to document and promote their cultural heritage.

Organized with RIWATCH and the All Mompa Students Union, these workshops trained a total of 86 participants. An additional session in Dibrugarh, Assam trained 22 teachers from Shiksha Valley School.

From December to February, four workshops reached 140 participants helping them create short videos on cultural topics using mobile phones.

🏔️ Jammu & Kashmir (Jhullas, Poonch)

From January 15–17, 2025, a 3-day online training was held at Government Secondary School, Jhullas for 7 teachers. Organized with the District Collector’s Office and NITI Aayog, topics included:

  • Slideshow creation
  • Animation using Canva
  • Video production
  • Google Meet, Forms, Drive, Classroom
  • Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Closing ceremony guests included the Principal, Joint Commissioner, District Collector, and NITI Aayog representative.

🎓 Jammu & Kashmir (Mankot, Doda, & Jhullas)

On January 31, a 2-day Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop was held at Mankot, Poonch focusing on online teaching materials, led by Pallavi Paradkar with a full ICT lab.

On February 2, at Police Public School, Doda, a one-day workshop for 10 teachers covered interactive games and activity-based tools.

On February 3, a workshop at Cluster HSS, Jhullas trained ~35 teachers in creating zero-investment teaching aids using local materials.

🌾 Manipur

The East Border Development Foundation conducted sessions in 3 schools to train teachers on using educational videos for classroom teaching.

Trainers: Ranjana Desai and Veena Tai

Teachers later conducted practical demos using videos to teach English, integrating digital tools for enhanced learning engagement.
