Jammu and Kashmir
Gyan Setu project conducts science workshops for students of secondary grades in remote areas of border states through college volunteers. The main objective of this project is to imbibe the value of national integration among volunteers by using science and mathematics workshops as a tool for reaching remote places in India. Key activities include science and mathematics workshops that make learning interactive and enjoyable, helping students understand core concepts through experiments and games. Alongside activity-based learning, cultural exchange programs showcase local traditions, music, and cuisine, allowing volunteers and students to experience the country’s diversity firsthand. Surveys and interviews with community members offer insights into local life, while meetings with government officers help volunteers understand India’s administrative framework. These experiences collectively promote a sense of unity and deepen volunteers’ appreciation for the country’s cultural and regional richness.
