नमस्कार,
ज्ञान प्रबोधिनी स्पर्धा परीक्षा केंद्राच्या त्रिदशकपूर्ती निमित्त आपण आपले अधिकारी आणि इतर क्षेत्रात उत्तम काम करणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यांचे Good Practices Document तयार करत आहोत.
UPSC चा अभ्यास आणि त्यातून मिळणारे शिक्षण हे फक्त परीक्षेपुरते सीमित राहात नाही. त्या प्रक्रियेतून जाणारा विद्यार्थी विविध विषयांबरोबरच विविध कौशल्य आणि वृत्तीसुद्धा अंगिकारतो . असे कौशल्य आणि वृत्ती ज्या फक्त अर्थपूर्ण करिअरच नाही तर अर्थपूर्ण आयुष्य जगण्यासाठी प्रेरणा देतात. यामध्ये मग अधिकारी झालो किंवा नाही झालो तरी फरक होत नाही.
आपल्या या लेख मालिकेतील पुढील लेख एका अशाच विद्यार्थ्याचा आहे. शालेय वयातच प्रशासकीय सेवेबद्दलची माहिती मिळाली. तसेच समाजातील ग्रस्त गटांसाठी सेवा करण्याची वृत्तीघडण सुद्धा झाली. पुढे जेव्हा स्पर्धा परीक्षेत झोकून पूर्ण प्रयत्न करून मनासारखे यश नाही मिळाले, तेव्हा याच वृत्तीतून अर्थपूर्ण आयुष्य जगण्यासाठी एक वेगळे क्षेत्र निवडण्याची इच्छा आणि शक्ती मिळाली . अशी इच्छाशक्ती जी आजही तितकीच प्रबळ आहे.
तो विद्यार्थी म्हणजेच केंद्राचे २०१० च्या तुकडीचे विद्यार्थी श्री. आकाश पत्की.
श्री. आकाश यांनी २०१४ – १७ पंतप्रधान ग्रामीण विकास फेलो (PMRDF) माध्यमातून सामाजिक क्षेत्रात कामाची सुरुवात केली. आणि मग नंतर प्रथम, अवंता, LAHI आशा शिक्षण क्षेत्रातील संस्थांमध्ये काम केले.
सध्या ते Lend a Hand India (LAHI) चे सिनियर मॅनेजर म्हणून कार्यरत आहेत. त्याबरोबरच त्यांनी Define Solutions नावाची स्वतःची संस्था पण सुरु केली आहे. या दोन्हीच्या माध्यमातून ते SCERT आणि इतर शैक्षणिक संस्थांसाठी सल्लागार म्हणून काम करतात.
या त्यांच्या प्रवासात याच क्षेत्रात कार्यरत असणारी त्यांची पत्नी आणि केंद्राचीच विद्यार्थिनी सौ. अद्वैता वर्तक यांची सुद्धा तितकीच उत्तम साथ लाभली आहे.
त्यांचे अनुभव, त्यांचे कार्य आणि जीवनप्रवास आपण सर्वानी जरूर वाचावा, अनुभवावा असे आवाहन आणि शुभेच्छा!

On the occasion of the completion of three decades (Tridashakpurti) of the Jnana Prabodhini Competitive Examination Centre, we are preparing a Good Practices Document highlighting our officers and students who are doing exemplary work in various fields.
UPSC preparation and the learning it provides go far beyond the examination itself. The process helps students develop skills and values that lead to a meaningful career and life, regardless of whether one ultimately becomes an officer.
This article highlights one such journey—that of Mr. Akash Patki, a 2010-batch student of the JPCEC. Introduced early to public service and driven by a commitment to serve marginalized communities, he pursued competitive exams with full dedication. When the desired success did not materialize, these very values guided him toward an alternative but purposeful path in the social / impact sector.
From 2014 to 2017, he worked as a Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellowship fellow, followed by roles in education-focused organizations such as Avanta, Pratham, and Lend a Hand India. He is currently a Senior Manager at Lend a Hand India and has also founded Define Solutions, through which he consults with SCERT and other educational institutions. Throughout this journey, he has been equally supported by his wife, Mrs. Adwaita Vartak —herself a student of JPCEC and a professional in the same field—whose partnership has been invaluable
