नमस्कार,
ज्ञान प्रबोधिनी स्पर्धा परीक्षा केंद्राच्या त्रिदशकपूर्तीनिमित्त विविध क्षेत्रांत उल्लेखनीय कार्य करणाऱ्या आपल्या अधिकाऱ्यांचे आणि माजी विद्यार्थ्यांचे Good Practices Document तयार करत आहोत.
स्पर्धा परीक्षेची तयारी करावी आणि अधिकारी व्हावं ही इच्छा अनेक विद्यार्थ्यांची असते. त्यानुसार बरेच जण तयारी सुद्धा करतात. पण नेमके अधिकारी कशासाठी आणि का व्हायचे आहे याबद्दलचा दृढ निश्चय कमी जणांना असतो. आणि असे जे विद्यार्थी असतात त्यांच्या प्रयत्नात फक्त चिकाटी नसते तर एक आंतरिक तळमळ सुद्धा असते जी त्यांना इतरांपासून वेगळं बनवते.
या मालिकेतील पुढील लेख अशाच एका विद्यार्थिनीचा आहे जिने अगदी शालेय वयापासून स्पर्धा परीक्षा देऊन अधिकारी बनण्याचा दृढ निश्चय केला होता. आणि तो निश्चय सुद्धा व्हायचं तर फक्त IAS किंवा IFS इतका ठाम होता. पण त्याहूनही महत्वाचे म्हणजे IAS कशासाठी व्हायचे होते याबद्दलची सुद्धा स्पष्टता होती. आणि त्यानुसार प्रयत्न करून, पूरक अनुभव शिक्षण घेऊन ती विद्यार्थिनी अवघ्या २३ व्या वर्षी IAS झाली. आज IAS म्हणून कार्य करत असताना तीने कोव्हीड सारख्या महामारीच्या काळात, महिलांच्या प्रश्नांवर, केरळ सारख्या पर्यटन राज्यातील पर्यटन विभागात आणि इतर विविध जिल्ह्यांपासून ते केंद्रीय सचिवालयात अतिशय मूलभूत आणि धोरणात्मक कार्य बजावले आहे.
आपली ही विद्यार्थिनी म्हणजे २०१३ मध्ये IAS झालेल्या तसेच प्रतिष्टीत चेव्हेनिंग स्कॉलर असलेल्या आणि सध्या केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्रालयात उपसचिव म्हणून सेवार्थ असणाऱ्या सौ. मृण्मयी जोशी.
त्यांचा हा प्रवास, आणि कार्य आपण सर्वांनी नक्की वाचावे असे आवाहन आणि शुभेच्छा!!

On the occasion of the completion of Three decades (Tridashakpurti) of the Jnana Prabodhini Competitive Examination Centre, we are preparing a ‘Good Practices Document‘ highlighting our officers and students who are doing exemplary work in various fields.
Many aspire to become civil servants, and many work hard to achieve that goal. But only a few have a clear conviction about ‘why they want to become an officer’. Such individuals possess not only perseverance but also an inner drive that sets them apart.
The next article in this series is about one such alumna who, from her school days, was determined to become a civil servant—specifically an IAS or IFS officer. More importantly, she had clarity about why she wanted to become an IAS officer. Through determined efforts, relevant experiences and education, she became an IAS officer at the age of 23.
Over the course of her career, she has undertaken significant grassroots and policy-level work, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, on women-related issues, and in the Tourism Department of Kerala, among various other assignments.
This alumna is Mrs. Mrunmai Joshi, a Chevening Scholar who joined the IAS in 2013 and is currently serving as a Deputy Secretary in the Union Ministry of Finance.
